Rockabilly Artist Sonny Burgess Dies At Age 88

“The Arkansas Wild Man”, Sonny Burgess, one of the last of the Sun Records stars, died 8/18/2017.  He was 88.  The New York Times reports that Mr. Burgess passed away Friday night in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Burgess. known for his gruff voice and manic guitar work, was considered one of the pioneers of the boogie woogie, rockabilly sound.  He is best known for his recordings with Sun Records in the 50’s and also enjoyed a resurgence in popularity over the last few years in Europe.
